Making a Difference Together

At GoFishnet Happy Kids Academy, we believe that education extends beyond the classroom. Our community service initiatives help our learners develop empathy, responsibility, and a deep connection with their community.

Compassion Community Leadership

Why do we do all this?

Our headteacher Wilfred sums it up perfectly in an interview with Vincent. 🎤 It's Saturday afternoon, normally a school-free day. Yet Wilfred and Vincent are right in the thick of things to report on the action for Christian and his blind grandmother. Wilfred explains why it is so essential for Go Fishnet to think not only of the Happy Kids Academy but of the entire community. 🏫✨

For Wilfred, it's clear: true education is shown in how we treat the most vulnerable in our society. When our students see how they can improve the lives of a classmate and a blind senior citizen through their own strength, it is one of the most important lessons they will ever learn.

Director's Insight

Helping is fun!

Just look at Christine's smile! ✨ Christine was one of our hardest-working helpers during our Valentine's Day initiative for Christian and his grandmother. It is simply wonderful to see with how much enthusiasm and energy she tackles things. She shows us all: compassion is not a duty, but a gift that one is happy to share. 💖

Christine is one of our "Happy Kids" who has understood that together, we can achieve everything. What's special is that Christine herself is currently still waiting for a sponsor to accompany her on her educational path. The fact that she gives so much love and help to others despite her own challenges touches us deeply. 👣🌈

Valentine's Help Initiative

Proud of our Team in Kenya

We just received videos from our team in Kenya and we are sooooo touched and incredibly proud! Look at this! ❤️ Instead of enjoying their day off, our staff and many of our Happy Kids have teamed up to help where the need is greatest.

Their goal: Christian from Class 6. Christian lives with his blind grandmother and his sibling. The grandmother loves the children more than anything, but she can no longer care for herself and the children, and the maintenance of their hut is more than she can handle alone. Our team didn't just bring food; they got right to work: the property was tidied up, and broken items—like the rotting door—were repaired. 🛠️🍲
